Traditional Wool Tallis with White and Silver Stripes, Sizes 18 to 70

White ground, silver stripe. It is the brightest of the traditional tallisim without turning warm — silver keeps the whole thing cool and clean, and on white the effect is a stripe you notice in movement more than when the tallis is hanging still.

The largest size is the one to look at here. Size 70 is 59 inches by 80, a genuinely big tallis, and a man over six feet who has spent years in a 55 will feel the difference the first time he puts it on: enough width to come over the head without the front corners riding up, and enough length that the ends hang rather than stop short at the hip. Below that the range runs 60 at 55 by 75, 55 at 51 by 72, then down through 50, 45, 36, 24 and 18.

The small sizes are for boys, and the 18 by 72 in white and silver is one of the more common first tallisim given in the months before a bar mitzvah.
