Description
The centre of #197 is a dome, embroidered so the arc rises from the base of the bag and closes at the top, with separate work at each of the four corners holding the composition together. On velvet, a dome shape catches light along its curve, which gives the design more depth than a flat geometric layout would.
The tefillin bag at 8.5" x 9.5" is made without stones and is the right size for one pair of tefillin. The 14" x 14" large talis bag is the everyday size for tallis and tefillin together, and the 16" x 16" extra large gives the extra clearance a bigger tallis needs.
Design #197 is also produced as a matching prayer booklet cover, so a bencher or a small tefillah booklet can be ordered in the same embroidery. That is worth knowing before you buy — matching the set later is much harder than ordering it together, and a bag with a matching booklet cover makes a far more complete bar mitzvah or chosson gift.
