Description
The luxury pouch is the dressiest of the soft 1020 cases: black, worked on the front panel, and cut generously enough that a scroll goes in without being forced. It has no rigid frame, so it takes the shape of the megillah and flattens out when the scroll is removed.
It is sewn at 18 by 6 inches and 15 by 6 inches. The 18 inch length is the one to order for a standard full megillah; the 15 is for a shorter scroll, and is the easier one to slip into a bag alongside a machzor or a siddur. Six inches of width is the figure to check against a thick klaf on heavy rollers before you order.
Design 1020 is also cut as a tallis and tefillin bag. Buying both is how a man ends up with the same front on the piece he carries once a year and the one he carries daily.
