Description
Grey sits between the black and brown versions of the luxury scroll and is the quietest of the three. On design 1020GG it gives a modern finish with no shine and no trim, which suits a megillah that is itself decorated — the case stays out of the way and the klaf is the thing being looked at.
The tube comes at 17.7 inches and 14 inches. A standard megillah needs the 17.7; the 14 inch is the size for a short scroll. Both are supplied with the personalized snap-on handle, and the handle detaches, which is what makes the case practical to put down mid-reading rather than having to hold it the whole time.
Between one Purim and the next the case does the harder job. A rigid grey tube on a closet shelf keeps parchment from being pressed under a pile of machzorim, and that is the year-round argument for a tube over a fabric case.
