Description
Black leather, design 1840, built as a straight scroll tube with the finish doing the talking. There is no trim and no second material — just leather over the body, closed at both ends, in the plain register that men buying for themselves rather than as a gift tend to prefer.
Two lengths are made: 17.7 inches for a full megillah and 14 inches for a shorter scroll. The personalized snap-on handle is included, and on a case this length it is the difference between a comfortable walk to shul and holding a tube under your arm for ten minutes. It clips off when the case is set down for the layning.
1840 is also made as a lulav holder. That is a genuinely useful pairing — the same leather covering the megillah on Purim and the lulav on Sukkos, so two of the year's carried items match instead of being whatever was bought that season.
