Description
The Meron sits at the plain end of the wool range: pure wool, a stripe, and nothing else asked of it. White stripes or black stripes are the two options. It is a tallis meant to be used rather than looked at, and the price reflects that honestly.
Two sizes are cut, 50 and 60. The 50 sits on the shoulders and is what a great many yeshiva bochurim wear day to day; the 60 is a full adult width and gives enough cloth to cover the head properly during davening. Black stripes are the Ashkenaz default; white stripes are worn in a number of kehillos and are also the common choice for Yom Tov in houses that keep two.
This is the tallis to buy as a second one — for travel, for camp, for a son who begins wearing a tallis before his wedding, or for a bag that lives at work. Catching it on something or leaving it behind is not a disaster.
