Description
The 36 design in silver embroidery, this time stitched into leather. Leather takes thread differently to woven cloth — there is no give in the ground, so the silver holds a hard, exact line and stays that way. Against a hide with its own low sheen, silver reads cooler and more deliberate than it does on fabric, and the sterling crystals set through the work sit proud rather than settling in.
Four sizes are made: small, large, X-large and XX-large. Leather is the stiffest of the three grounds this design is offered on, which means the bigger cuts stay flat and square instead of drooping over the challos. On the XX-large that matters — a cover that size in a soft fabric would need a board underneath to hold its shape, and this one does not.
Design 36 also comes on brocade and on satin. Leather is the version to take if the cover gets handled hard every week, since it takes wear without showing it and wipes down after a spill.
