Description
#V1053 sets an embroidered panel into the velvet body rather than stitching straight onto the ground fabric. You can see the join: the panel has its own edge, and the velvet runs around it. That construction gives the front a framed look and keeps the embroidery from spreading into the corners where a bag takes the most handling.
It is produced in bar mitzvah, large and extra large. The bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 x 10 is the size to give a boy with his first tefillin. The 14 x 14 large talis bag is the adult standard. The 16 x 16 extra large is for a full wool tallis, and for men who would rather not press the bag closed each morning.
Because the panel is a separate piece, the design number matters more than usual on a reorder — asking for #V1053 by number is the only way to be sure the same panel comes back.
