Description
#V1445 carries close, detailed stitching over velvet — fine gauge work packed tightly rather than bold shapes laid out with space between them. Held at arm's length it reads as a rich, even surface; up close the individual runs of thread separate out. It is the sort of face that takes longer on the machine than its size suggests.
Produced to order in bar mitzvah, large and extra large. The 10.5 x 10 is the bochur's cut. The 14 x 14 large talis bag is the standard for a man carrying a regular tallis with his tefillin. The 16 x 16 extra large is for heavy talleisim, and for anyone who has ever had to force a zipper on a Shabbos morning.
Detailed work of this kind repays good light. It shows better on a shtender in a well-lit shul than it does in a photograph.
