Description
Design 1800B is a full-length lulav case, 53.5 by 7.5 inches, which is the length a bound lulav with its hadassim and aravos actually needs. The width matters as much as the length: at 7.5 inches across, the lulav goes in and comes out without the leaves being dragged past a tight opening, which is where most damage happens.
The choice to make on this one is the aluminum lining. Ordered with it, the inside of the case is lined so the lulav holds its freshness through the days of Yom Tov instead of drying out by the middle of the week. Ordered without, you get the same case unlined, which is what to pick if you keep the lulav standing in water at home and only use the case for the walk to shul.
Either way the case is doing the same job: getting a bound lulav to shul each morning of Sukkos and back again in one piece, through crowds, doorways and a car, without a snapped aravah to show for it.
