Description
Leather and fur in one cover — that is the whole proposition of #652, and it is not a combination that turns up often on a Shabbos table. The leather gives a firm, structured face that holds its shape, the fur softens the edge, and the embroidery with sterling crystals runs across the leather where it stands out cleanly against a surface that does not absorb light the way pile does.
Offered small at 14.5x17.5, medium at 15.5x19.5 and large at 19.5x23.5. Leather behaves differently from fabric across sizes: the small stays fairly rigid and sits almost like a mat, while the large has enough weight to fall over the sides of a board. Know which effect you are after before choosing.
There is a challah board in the same 652 design and a matzah cover as well. Leather is also the hardest-wearing choice in this collection — it wipes down, it does not crush, and it will look much the same in five years as it does the week you bring it home.
