Description
The canopy design on navy, with the arch worked in your choice of silver or gold thread and crystal accents set into the embroidery. Navy is the ground that makes metallic thread read cleanly — silver stays cool and sharp against it, gold warms the whole cover — and the canopy arch is one of the older, steadier motifs in the Malchut line rather than a passing pattern.
Two decisions to make. First the thread: silver or gold, and the honest test is what your candlesticks and becher already are. Then the size, small at 15x17.5 or large at 19.5x23.5. Small suits a pair of challos on a family table; large is the one for a long board or a table set for guests.
The canopy #160 also runs as a bencher cover and as simanim cards. A set of benchers in the same navy and the same thread as the cover is a common order for a bar mitzvah or a chasuna, and the simanim cards bring the design to the Rosh Hashanah table.
