Star of David Embroidered Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag #134

A Magen David embroidered on velvet, design #134 — direct, unfussy, and one of the most recognisable bags in the range. The embroidery is offered two ways: primarily gold with some silver, or primarily silver with some gold. On a black bag the gold is the traditional pairing; on navy, silver reads cleaner.

Five sizes are made, more than most designs here: the matching tefillin bag at 8.5" x 9.5", the bar mitzvah size at 9.5" x 9.5", a medium talis bag at 12.5" x 11.5", the large talis bag at 14" x 14" and the extra large at 16" x 16". The medium size is worth knowing about — it suits a bochur who has outgrown a tefillin bag but does not yet want a full-size talis bag.

Black and navy velvet are the standard colours across every size. Hunter green, royal blue and maroon are made only in the bar mitzvah and medium talis sizes, and the royal blue comes with silver embroidery. If a coloured bag is what you are after, that limits the sizes accordingly.
