Description
The 1840 is one of the hard esrog cases in the Malchut Sukkos line, measuring 7.5 by 4 by 3.5 inches. The walls hold firm, so a full-size esrog rides in its padding without being pressed on from outside, and the case keeps its shape season after season in the closet.
It ships with the snap-on handle that runs across this line. On for the walk, off for the bench: with the handle removed the box takes up almost no room in front of you in shul, and clips back on in a second when it is time to go home. There is a single size, built for a grown esrog rather than a small one.
Design 1840 also appears as a megillah case, which is the quiet advantage of buying from a numbered range. A family that likes the 1840 for Sukkos can carry the same design to shul on Purim, and the two pieces sit together on the shelf as a matched pair rather than two unrelated purchases.
