Description
The soft build of design 1806 wraps the esrog rather than encasing it in a rigid shell. The case still measures 7.5 by 4 by 3.5 inches, the same footprint as its hard counterpart, but it weighs less in the hand and gives a little when it is packed, which is why it suits a bag that is already full on Erev Yom Tov.
It comes with the same snap-on handle. Clipped on, the case carries in one hand; taken off, it folds into a small parcel that goes flat against the side of a bag. There is one size, and it is cut for a full esrog, not a small one.
Soft or hard is the real decision on 1806. A soft case is the choice for someone who keeps the esrog at home most of Sukkos and carries it a short walk to shul, or who wants a second case for travelling to family for Yom Tov. If the esrog spends the week being handed around, the hard version of 1806 is the safer buy.
