Description
Design 1830 is a firm-walled esrog case, 7.5 by 4 by 3.5 inches, built so that the shell absorbs handling and the esrog inside does not. Nothing about it collapses or folds: the case has the same shape full or empty, which is why it stacks and stores well between Yomim Tovim.
The handle snaps on. That small detail decides how the case is used day to day — clipped on for the walk to shul, off again once you are in your place, so the box lies flat in front of you and the handle is not knocking against the shtender during shemoneh esrei. Every one of these cases is the same size, so there is nothing to choose at checkout.
Between the days of Yom Tov the esrog wants somewhere cool and undisturbed, and a rigid box on a shelf is exactly that. Design 1830 works as a carrying case for the walk and a resting place for the rest of the week, which is more than most soft covers manage.
